Nearly 200 Year 11 pupils marked the end of an important chapter in their lives with a glamorous prom celebration after completing their GCSE exams.
Leavers from Acklam Grange School in Middlesbrough arrived in style at Gisborough Hall Hotel, where they gathered for one final evening together before beginning the next stage of their education, training and careers.
The red-carpet occasion saw pupils dressed to impress in elegant gowns, smart suits and tuxedos as they celebrated five years of friendships, hard work and memorable moments at the Legacy Learning Trust school.
The evening featured music, dancing, great food and entertainment, giving students the opportunity to relax and celebrate after months of revision and the pressures of exam season. It was also a chance for staff, pupils and families to reflect on everything the Year 11 cohort has achieved during their time at Acklam Grange.
Headteacher Michael Laidler said the evening was a fitting celebration for a year group that had shown dedication and resilience throughout their time at the school.
"I am really, really proud of our Year 11s. Tonight is the culmination of everything they've worked towards for the last five years," he said.
"They've worked so hard, and they thoroughly deserve to enjoy a night where we can all celebrate them together, enjoy each other's company one more time.
"It's a wonderful chance for the Acklam Grange family to come together and recognise what makes our school the great place it is."
Throughout the evening, classmates posed for photographs, shared laughs and created lasting memories as they celebrated the end of their secondary school journey together.
While the prom marked the close of one chapter, it also represented the beginning of exciting new opportunities. Many pupils will now move on to sixth form, college, apprenticeships or employment, taking with them the friendships, experiences and lessons gained during their years at Acklam Grange.
For one final evening, however, thoughts of exams and revision were left behind as the Class of 2026 celebrated an unforgettable milestone surrounded by friends and teachers who have supported them throughout their school journey.
